Program Overview
Team BC is a pathway for young athletes who aspire to reach the elite level and who dream to one day represent Canada on the National Men’s or Women’s Volleyball Team. Team BC programs work to advance volleyball talent and build a broader and stronger pipeline of athletes and coaches for our Canadian Olympic Teams.
The Team BC High Performance Camp acts as a camp for athletes in the Train to Train and Train to Compete stages of the Canada Sport for Life Model. Coaches and athletes will gather and will be exposed to technical, tactical, physical and psychological concepts essential for athletes progressing along the High Performance Pathway. The Red & Blue High Performance Camp will also act as a selection Camp for the Team BC Red & Blue program.
Eligible Athletes
Volleyball BC and/or Volleyball Canada member athletes born in September 2007 or later.
Note: The extended 16-month age categories does apply for the Team BC Red & Blue program.

Identification Pathway 1a) Registering and attending a Super Regional Selection Camp. The 3 day selection camps will consist of 8+ hours of on court and off court training and evaluation, and will prepare athletes for participation in the Team BC Red & Blue program.
Identification Pathway 1b) Athletes may be identified through evaluation at 15/16U Provincials and/or participation at the Physical Testing station at the 15/16U Youth Provincial Championship. Identified athletes will be notified approximately 10 business days after club provincials. Athletes identified through step 1b still need to attend the Super Regional Selection Camp, but will automatically progress to the next step in Kamloops, BC.

TEAM BC SUPER REGIONAL SELECTION CAMPS

Cost: $425 *costs include 8+ hours of on court play. Fee’s do not include transportation, food or accommodation costs.

Athletes may attend any Super Regional Selection camp regardless of where they reside. Athletes must attend a Super Regional Camp to be identified for the TBC Red an Blue program. For athletes who have a significant conflict with both weekends and are unable to attend are encourage to contact td@volleyballbc.org. Athletes who have been identified to the Team BC Select selection camp, who are eligible for the Red and Blue program may be identified for the Team BC Red & Blue Program.
TEAM BC RED & BLUE HP CAMP
Overview: The Team BC Red & Blue HP camp is a 4 day camp aimed at
1) Introducing a high performance training environment to the top 16U athletes in BC.
2) Acting as the final step in the selection process for the Team BC Red & Blue program.
Eligible Athletes: BC athletes born in September 2007 or later who have been identified and invited to participate in the program selection camp.
Number of Positions Available: up to 48 athletes will be selected to attend the Team BC Red & Blue HP Camp. 14 athletes & up to 6 training alternates will be selected to continue to train with the Team BC Red & Blue program at the conclusion of the HP Camp.
Selection Policy & Criteria: Athletes selection for the Team BC Red & Blue Program will follow the Volleyball BC Selection Policy, and evaluated based on the Team BC Athlete Identification Matrix.

Team BC Red & Blue HP Camp Overview
Location: Kamloops – Thompson Rivers University (TRU) / Tournament Capital Centre
Date & Times: July 11 (check-in) / July 12 – 15, 2024
Accommodation: TRU Residence
Food: TRU Food Services
Medical Services: Head Therapist & Student Therapist on-site
Fees: $1,325
Fees include 4 days of training and competition, food, accommodation, training shirts, and on site medical therapy.

Transportation: Chartered bus from Kamloops, BC
PROGRAM FEES
Travel Athlete: $2,500-$3,000
Fees include 10 days of training, performance services, Team BC apparel, travel and participation and transportation to the Canada Cup. Food and accommodation services will be provided for both competitions and training.
Training Alternate Athlete: $1,250
Fees include 10 days of training, performance services, Team BC apparel, Food and accommodation services will be provided for the training period.
